Jeffrey Robinson, MD

Growing up in the beautiful state of Colorado, I was completely spoiled by the amazing scenery and way of life that the Rocky Mountain State has to offer. I was almost certain that, upon completion of my training, I would return and practice Emergency Medicine in my home state. That was, of course, until I became acquainted with the city of Ventura and began my career within the Ventura County Health Care system.

After graduating from South High School in Denver (Go Rebels!), I enrolled at the University of Colorado, where I majored and received my degree in both Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.Though I was only a marginally good gymnast, I made the Men’s Gymnastic Team, and nursed injuries pretty much throughout my college freshman year. Afterwards, I truly began focusing on my studies and after receiving my undergraduate degree, I entered the University of Colorado Medical School in Denver. My residency at Ventura County Medical Center began in 1984. It was clear from the beginning of my training, that I particularly enjoyed Emergency Medicine. After graduating from residency in June 1987, I immediately started a full time job as an attending physician in the VCMC Emergency Department in July of the same year. It is still hard to believe I have been now working in the Emergency Department almost 30 years!!

I have logged over 120,000 miles cycling over the past 15 years in this beautiful County, and as many miles chasing around my 2 beautiful children, Luke and Emma! My time away from the hospital includes many baseball and soccer games, as well as ski trips and “ocean time” with my family.

I thoroughly believe in the mission of the Ventura County Health Care Agency and that it encompasses some of the best Family Practice residents in the nation. I’m extremely proud of the contributions that our Emergency Department group has made to the VCMC residency program and to the entire Health Care agency institution.
